Sponsor a Child
The Sponsor a Child (SAC) project is designed to support the holistic development of children in three key dimensions: mind, body, and spirit. These dimensions encompass education, healthcare and physical activities, cultural activities, and fostering hope through periodic mentoring.
The ultimate goal of the SAC project is to develop well-rounded children who grow up to become ethical, honest, sincere, and productive citizens of the world. The project aims to instil values such as care and empathy towards fellow beings. The SAC project aspires to create a positive impact on the lives of sponsored children and empower them to reach their full potential.
The benefitting children are from remote areas of Pune district belonging to families of daily wages.
Between 2015 and 2020, BVF has supported nearly 875 children.

School Kit
Having a well-equipped library within the school premises helps kids to gain interest in books, thereby cultivating reading habit in young age. Unfortunately, a huge number of schools lack this facility due to various causes.
Being Volunteer has helped 7 such schools to build their own libraries by donating more than 1000 books per school.

School bag having all the required material inside it, was something that all of us looked forward to every new educational year. Many school going children still can’t afford this tiny happiness as their parents are cannot purchase the education material every year.
Being Volunteer shares the load by distributing school kits and stationaries bags every year. So far they have distributed several thousands of such kits.

“Bolkya Bhinti” - The Talking Walls
“Bolkya Bhinti” (talking walls) is an innovative concept popular in Maharashtra schools. This is initiative made for children to get a clear vision of various simple and complex concepts from the text books.
Schools are very well used to paint pictures, texts, sums, tables, etc.
This painting requires professional artists and volunteers. BV helps with this along with the painting materials. BV volunteers painted 3864Sq.ft in 2022.
WASH
Menstrual Hygiene
Besides these, BV conducts awareness sessions on “menstrual hygiene” under the WASH initiative. We have conducted more than 13 such session in 2022 alone.
